Hi, I'm Virginie. I'm a professional musician, and besides music I enjoy sewing clothes and sharing my thoughts about the process. That's what the blog is all about. Creativity has always been a part of my life: I was born into a family of artists and I started sewing at age 11. I love sewing 'cause it allows me to make quality garments that have integrity, to be creative manually and to have a slow fashion approach when it comes to the clothes I wear. Why Dixie Couture? I chose that name to honour the memory of my beloved dog Dixie, who accompanied me in my transition between crucial chapters in my personal life. Couture simply means 'sewing' in french, my mother tongue, and the two words together give me a happy feeling.
